If you've never dabbled with PC mods before, it's a breeze for Dragon Age 2. There you'll find hundreds to thousands of tweaks, changes and fan-made content to fiddle with to your heart's content. Makes me a sad panda.The best mod repository for Dragon Age 2, as well as other RPGs like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls series, is the group of dedicated Nexus websites. All-in-all, I feel like I've brought an overpriced and hurried expansion pack to Dragon Age. The 'combo states' (staggering etc.) game the fighting a little more depth too but overall these positive features can't save the game.

Fighting in general feels more smooth and even thought number of abilities/spells was reduced, I think the general feel of the abilities/spells is better. Combat and skill system is surely better than in DA1. I felt like playing one of those low grade Asian role-playing game made for kids which would not see the similarity of the maps. Every mansion looks the same, every house has the same rooms and even all the close by caves, five or six of them, look completely the same. Recycling maps is usually acceptable in this kind of games but if we are just running around one city lik in DA2, I get the expression the game was pushed out too early. The quests themselves are mindless, which might be enough for some people but I feel that there should be something new to these 'go to the point X, kill Y and bring me the Z'. Lore-wise speaking the game should have been an expansion or DLC to original DA, very much like DA:O.

I was also expecting to see some advancement in the Dragon Age core lore but after the brief introduction of Flemeth and her reappearance mid-game, the game just kept centering on the Champion of Kirkwall. What I mean is that if I am playing a 'movie RPG' like DA2, I expect to see some scripted custom animations, high quality dialogue or even nice prerendered cut scenes but when I completed the game I felt empty handed.

Storytelling was even lower quality than DA1. The game lacks depth in storytelling, lore and quests. DAII does not make ONE simple point better than part 1. They oversimplyfied everything in this game. One Town, No Worldmap, ridiculous characters, a 'not so interesting Story', Graphics from 2005 (Hello bioware, we have 2011 now, Even the current console generation hardware is bored to death with this program), really bad environments, no armor management for party mambers and always the same cloned level structures like the dungeons in Oblivion. DA2 doesnГ‚Вґt even deserve to be named a RPG. But now Bioware made a game where i have to think : Is this a RPG or a Action Adventure/HackГ‚Вґn Slay ? THIS, Dragon Age 2, is the Call of Duty of RPGГ‚Вґs. I loved it, Really! ThatГ‚Вґs why this game hurts so much. I played Dragon Age origins and enjoyed it. As a Player of Baldurs Gate 1 &2, Planescape Torment, Morrowind and all the other RPGГ‚Вґs which deserve to be called 'Role As a Player of Baldurs Gate 1 &2, Planescape Torment, Morrowind and all the other RPGГ‚Вґs which deserve to be called 'Role Playing Games' i am shocked were the Genre is heading.
